Dream Space planning guide
Supplying your own products can work well when the responsibilities are clear. Make those decisions part of the scope before installation and deliveries are arranged.
01 · Planning step
Identify who supplies each item
Create a list of the flooring, cabinets, hardware, fixtures and appliances you plan to supply. Keep it separate from the products included in the contractor’s allowance. A product photo is useful, but the exact model and specification are more reliable for planning.
02 · Planning step
Check fit before ordering
Appliance dimensions, cabinet openings, door swings and fixture clearances can affect the installation plan. Review manufacturer specifications before finalizing an order. Changes to a selected model should be shared before the layout is treated as complete.
03 · Planning step
Confirm the quantity and components
Discuss the measured area and any ordering allowance before purchasing flooring or tile. Check whether matching trims, transitions, hardware and required components are included. The online labor calculation does not produce a complete shopping list.
04 · Planning step
Agree on delivery and storage
Confirm when products will be available and where they can be stored for the work. Delayed, missing or incompatible items can affect sequencing. Discuss a practical plan before arranging installation around an expected shipment.
05 · Planning step
Write the installation scope clearly
State what is supplied by each party and which preparation, connection, removal or finish work is included. Product and installation terms should be confirmed in the project agreement. Do not assume that a client-supplied item includes additional work outside the quoted scope.
Common planning questions
Can Dream Space install flooring I supply?
Share the exact product, quantity and delivery date for review. Confirm installation suitability and preparation in the written proposal.
Does supplying a product make the estimator a final quote?
No. Measurements, preparation, connections, compatibility and the remaining scope still need review.
