Dream Space planning guide
Connected projects benefit from one clear room list and a coordinated scope. The important question is which work is already included and which adjoining areas need separate pricing.
01 · Planning step
Map the rooms and work categories
List the kitchen and each adjoining room. For every room, mark demolition, repair, cabinets, flooring and painting as separate categories. A simple sketch helps identify thresholds and where new finishes will meet existing surfaces.
02 · Planning step
Check the room-package inclusions
A package may already include some flooring, paint or lighting within its defined room area. Do not add a second flooring or painting estimate for that same scope without review. Kitchen and bathroom figures in the planner are provisional allowances and need a project-specific proposal.
03 · Planning step
Measure additional areas separately
Record flooring and paint areas outside the selected room package. Keep stairs, ceilings, doors, trim and extensive preparation visible as separate work. For painting, confirm the measurement basis before relying on the $3 per sq ft reference.
04 · Planning step
Coordinate products and the work sequence
Appliance and cabinetry specifications affect the kitchen layout. Flooring products affect transitions and preparation. Paint selections affect the finish scope. Review those choices together and confirm material availability before scheduling connected work.
05 · Planning step
Request one consolidated proposal
Use individual calculator figures as planning references, not as a complete combined-project total. Dream Space can review the room list, overlap, preparation and exact products together. A written proposal is the place to confirm the overall scope, price and timing.
Common planning questions
Should I add several estimator totals together?
Only as rough separate references. Ask for a scope review before combining packages so overlapping work and additional preparation are not counted incorrectly.
Can flooring or painting extend beyond the kitchen?
Yes. Identify and measure the adjoining areas separately so the proposal can state exactly where each finish is included.
